A Painting and a Procurement

Sophia is getting SO big, SO fast. She has finally learned to give kisses, but clapping still eludes her. She used to love to explore and be on her own, but lately she crawls over and wants to snuggle in my lap while I read to her. She likes to wave and make a noise that sounds alot like "hi" when she's out and about and encounters a new person. She loves going out so we've purchased annual passes to the Children's Museum and the Zoo.

Two Fridays ago, Soph, mom and I went to the Children's Museum and Sophie did her first finger painting.

Now, as cute as it was, it of course was not the best picture I've ever seen. But this is an actual quote from my mom, "Hers is alot better than some of these other kids' crap!" Gotta love her.

We also had a loss in our family---Sophie's stuffed giraffe. We've been looking for it for quite some time now. It is nowhere to be found. So last week, I'm driving to my mom's house with Sophie and Carl when I see a dead cat on the side of the road. As I get closer, I realize that in actuality some poor child has lost their teddy bear. As I drive past, I realize that the dead cat/someother kid's teddy bear is actually Sophie's giraffe. Carl or I must have dropped it the day I got the van stuck in the snow and had to walk home. The ginormous snow drifts overtook it soon after.

He's since had a trip through the washer and dryer and is doing much better.
